Bad days are inevitable. We all go through them and sometimes they seem unbearable. So today I’m sharing my favorite things to do when I’m having a particularly bad day. Don’t forget to share your favorite bad day remedies in the comments so we can all help each other get through those tough ones.

DO A FACE MASK

Or really, just any spa-like activity that will make me feel pampered. Whether it be a face mask, a fresh manicure, or playing with a new beautiful tool, it always makes me feel more relaxed and a bit more level headed.

LIGHT MY FAVORITE CANDLES

In fairness, I pretty much do this every night anyway, but the reason I do that is that it puts me in such a good mood! There are actual specific scents that make you feel different ways (lemon scents help to relieve anxiety, lavender helps to relieve stress, etc), but the overall feeling you get when you light a candle is one of relaxation and calm.

CATCH UP WITH A FRIEND

I’m a pretty social person, so I find just being around someone always helps to cheer me up. There is actually scientific research about why humans need each other to feel happy and feeling alone is linked to tons of physical and emotional health problems. So sometimes something as simple as just sitting next to someone you love can make you feel better without even needing to speak.

TREAT YO SELF

Seriously, does anything make you feel better than treating yourself to something special? It could be as simple as getting an extra scoop of ice cream. Just doing something for yourself that you typically wouldn’t will often make you feel instantly better.

GO FOR A WALK

Sometimes just getting out of your environment and not letting yourself sit in your funk can make all the difference. Plus, sunlight will help your body increase levels of serotonin which in turn will make you feel happier. I know if I just lay in bed all day it just perpetuates my bad mood, but when I push through and tell myself that it will be a better day I often feel a lot better.

Remember, there’s nothing wrong with having a bad day and there’s definitely nothing wrong with feeling sad sometimes, but I hope this post helped give you some idea for what to do when you’re ready to cheer up! Love you guys!
